Text Message Notifications

VotumVela (www.votumvela.com) is an online gift registry and wish list service operated by FireHorse Software LLC. This page describes our text message (SMS) program: who receives texts, what we send, how account holders opt in, and how to stop.

Who Receives Texts and Why

Texts are sent only to VotumVela account holders who choose to receive them, at the mobile number on their own profile. They are notifications about the account holder's own VotumVela activity: gift-circle and event invitations, purchase and reservation confirmations, purchase-hold reminders, event reminders, order shipping updates, and one-time verification codes for two-factor sign-in. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.

How to Opt In: Notification Preferences

Texts are off by default; a new account receives its notifications by email. To opt in, a signed-in account holder opens the Notification Preferences page in their profile, selects Text messages (SMS), enters or confirms their mobile number in the field directly below it, ticks the unchecked box labeled "Yes, I agree to receive text message notifications from VotumVela at the mobile number above." and saves. The box is never pre-checked, and texts cannot be turned on unless it is ticked. The disclosure under the box, with links to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, appears in the screenshot below. Choosing texts is never required to use VotumVela.

The Notification Preferences opt-in, as an account holder sees it: the mobile number field and the unchecked consent box are on the same form. Email stays selected until the account holder chooses texts, ticks the box and saves.

After opting in, the account holder receives one confirmation text: VotumVela: You're now subscribed to SMS notifications (gift-circle invites, purchase confirmations, event reminders). Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.

How to Opt In: Text Message Sign-In Codes

Account holders can also choose to receive two-factor sign-in codes by text. On the Two-Factor Authentication page of their profile they select Enable SMS Verification. On the next screen they enter their mobile number, tick the unchecked box labeled "Yes, I agree to receive sign-in verification codes by text message from VotumVela at the mobile number above." and select Send Code. A code is sent only when the account holder asks for one and only to the number on that form; the number is saved to the account only after the code is entered. The same disclosure and links appear on that screen.

Message Frequency and Cost

Message frequency varies with account activity. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How to Stop and Get Help

Reply STOP to any VotumVela text to cancel; you will receive one confirmation and no further texts. You can also select a different notification method in your profile at any time. Reply HELP for help, or email CustomerSupport@VotumVela.com.

Your Mobile Number

We do not sell or share your mobile number or your SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes; your number is shared only with our text message delivery provider to send the messages you asked for. See our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
